The 2026 Li Auto i6, the brand’s primary volume-selling mid-size all-electric SUV, has an official launch date. Li Auto will formally unveil the new model on October 28, with nationwide mass deliveries beginning in early November. Ahead of the launch, the car will enter dealerships nationwide on October 11 for static previews, followed by its overseas public debut at the Paris Motor Show on October 12.

Compared with the outgoing model, the 2026 Li Auto i6 receives systematic upgrades across six areas: lighting, storage, cabin comfort, screen hardware, range, and onboard computing power, reinforcing its position in the mid-to-premium all-electric family SUV segment.

Exterior Design: Family Styling With Refined Details
The 2026 Li Auto i6 carries over the brand’s minimalist, tech-focused family design language. The front fascia adopts styling consistent with the new L9 and i9 series, giving the car a stronger visual hierarchy closer to Li Auto’s flagship models. The new car also adopts semi-concealed door handles to meet the latest national regulations while improving aerodynamics.

Body dimensions are unchanged at 4,950/1,935/1,655 mm (length/width/height) with a 3,000 mm wheelbase, which underpins the cabin’s interior space. Wheels are offered in 20-inch and 21-inch sizes to suit different preferences for comfort or a sportier look. Lighting is a core upgrade point: the entire lineup now gets the same ADB matrix headlights used on the Li MEGA, significantly increasing beam width and distance for clearer nighttime visibility and stronger active-safety assistance.

Interior and Cabin: Upgraded Screens and Comfort
The cabin is the core focus of this update. The minimalist layout carries over from the brand’s latest models, with an optimized ambient lighting system and upgraded hardware. Screen hardware takes a major leap forward: the front row gets a 29-inch 6K panoramic display with improved clarity, color accuracy, and viewing angles for both video playback and infotainment use. A new 21-inch 4K dedicated entertainment screen has been added for rear passengers, bringing the car’s in-cabin entertainment closer to Li Auto’s flagship models.

On seating, the new car gets dual zero-gravity front seats with a 150-degree recline function, paired with refined seat-adjustment logic to ease fatigue on long trips or during waiting periods. Storage has also been improved with a new power-operated front trunk that can be opened either by voice command or a knock-sensing gesture, adding convenience and expanding usable cabin storage.

Cabin Space and Storage: Built for Family Use
Thanks to the 3,000 mm wheelbase, the 2026 Li Auto i6 offers balanced interior space utilization as a five-seat mid-size all-electric SUV, designed around core family needs. Front and rear legroom and headroom are generous, avoiding the cramped feel common in fastback-style SUVs, which suits full-family travel. Storage is arranged in clear layers throughout the cabin, and together with the new power-operated front trunk, the overall storage system is better suited to everyday items and short-trip cargo. Rather than chasing oversized-space gimmicks, the layout prioritizes practicality and ride comfort for mainstream family use.

Smart Cockpit and Driver-Assist Hardware
The new Li Auto i6 is equipped with a full-spec smart cockpit and driver-assist hardware set, with upgraded computing and perception capability. It is powered by a combination of a Qualcomm 8797 automotive chip and Li Auto’s self-developed Mach M100 chipset, working together to keep the infotainment system responsive, support multitasking, and leave headroom for future over-the-air feature updates.

On the sensing side, the car carries four lidar units arranged across a roof-mounted main lidar, dual side blind-spot lidars, and a rear blind-spot lidar, giving all-around perception coverage to support advanced driver-assistance features. The car also offers optional power swing doors and an optional power-retractable tow hitch, adding flexibility for different ownership needs.

Battery and Powertrain: Range and Performance Gains
On the powertrain side, the 2026 Li Auto i6 gets a self-developed 96 kWh supercharging battery, with full in-house control over the cells, pack, and battery management system. The 5C supercharging cells are self-developed by Li Auto and manufactured by a specialist contract maker, while the battery pack itself is produced in-house, supporting quality control and performance. CLTC all-electric range reaches 780 km, a significant increase over the outgoing model that eases range anxiety for electric-vehicle owners. That CLTC figure is equivalent to an estimated 624–663 km on a WLTP basis.

The powertrain lineup continues with single-motor rear-wheel-drive and dual-motor four-wheel-drive layouts to suit different needs. The single-motor version has a maximum output of 250 kW, delivering smooth and ample power for daily commuting and highway cruising. The dual-motor version pairs a 150 kW front motor with a 250 kW rear motor for stronger acceleration and more stable handling on wet or snowy roads. Both the powertrain and battery systems have been specifically tuned to balance energy efficiency with driving feel.
