Xiaomi founder and CEO Lei Jun formally unveiled the Xiaomi SkyNomad N70 and N90 range-extender SUVs on the evening of September 7, 2026, at the company’s Autumn Flagship Launch Event. Four variants went on sale simultaneously, with prices running from 209,900 to 299,900 yuan (approximately $31,328 to $44,761). The final prices came in 20,000 to 30,000 yuan below the previously announced pre-sale figures.

Pricing and Opening Orders

Official prices are 209,900 yuan ($31,328) for the N70 Pro, 239,900 yuan (35,806) for the N70 Max, 269,900 yuan ($40,284) for the N90 Max, and 299,900 yuan ($44,761) for the N90 Max Explorer Edition. The Explorer Edition was introduced as a “One more thing” surprise at the close of the presentation. Xiaomi said the pricing was aimed at reinvigorating demand in the gradually cooling range-extender market. More than 10,000 locked orders were placed within four minutes of the announcement.

Design: Box-Like Architecture for Maximum Interior Space

The N70 and N90 share a family design language described as clean and angular. The front features a closed fascia and distinctive “dragonfly wing spread” headlights with an extended illumination range. Side surfaces use a straight roofline and waistline, while a through-style “star ring” taillight graphic runs across the rear.
The box-shaped proportions serve primarily to maximize interior usable space. Built on Xiaomi’s Kunlun platform, both models deliver a flat floor spanning 2.9 metres and a maximum usable interior area of 4.4 square metres. The cabin supports 18 preset space modes selectable at a single touch, forming the physical foundation for the face-to-face seating configuration that Xiaomi positions as a core selling point.

Xiaomi SkyNomad N70: Five-Seat Flagship

The SkyNomad N70 is a medium-large SUV measuring 4,960 mm in length with a 2,950 mm wheelbase. Rear legroom reaches up to 1,410 mm; with the front seats rotated for face-to-face seating, the distance between two occupants extends to 1,687 mm. Rotatable front seats, a sliding centre console, and a one-touch bed function allow the interior to serve as a family vehicle, a mobile meeting room, or a mobile sleeping space. Six exterior colour options are available.
Two powertrain configurations are offered. The N70 Pro uses a 210 kW single electric motor paired with a 52 kWh battery and achieves a CLTC combined range of 1,351 km, equivalent to an estimated 1,081–1,148 km on a WLTP basis. The N70 Max uses a 310 kW dual-motor all-wheel-drive system with a 76 kWh battery, accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.5 seconds, and achieves a CLTC combined range of 1,461 km, equivalent to an estimated 1,169–1,242 km on a WLTP basis.

Xiaomi SkyNomad N90: Seven-Seat Flagship and the Explorer Edition

The larger N90 stretches to 5,285 mm in length with a 3,080 mm wheelbase and seats seven. First- and second-row seats are electrically rotatable. The N90 Max offers optional dual zero-gravity seats for the second row. With the rear seats folded, cargo capacity expands to 1,831 litres.
The top-specification N90 Max Explorer Edition adds a native electric motorized pop-up roof mechanism. When raised, the roof compartment provides independent air vents and power outlets, creating a functional space above the main cabin that Xiaomi says transforms traditional SUV rooftop tent use into a purpose-built solution for camping, fishing, and mobile workspace applications. All N90 Max variants use a 310 kW dual-motor all-wheel-drive system, provide 464 km of CLTC pure-electric range — equivalent to an estimated 371–394 km on a WLTP basis — and a total CLTC combined range of 1,705 km, equivalent to an estimated 1,364–1,449 km on a WLTP basis.

Intelligent Driving, Cockpit Technology, and Pre-Order Incentives

All four models come standard with the Xiaomi XIAOMI HAD advanced intelligent driving system, powered by an NVIDIA Orin-X chip. The sensor suite includes LiDAR, 4D millimeter-wave radar, and high-definition cameras. The cockpit features a 16.1-inch 3K centre display, a Snapdragon 8 series flagship cockpit chip, and a Super Xiao Ai AI assistant as standard equipment across the lineup. A multi-function rear entertainment screen is available as an option.
Xiaomi is offering limited-time pre-order incentives. Customers who place a deposit on the N70 series before October 7, 2026 receive complimentary equipment — including rotating seats, genuine leather interior, and XIAOMI HAD usage rights — with a combined value of 63,000 yuan (approximately $9,403). Pre-order benefits for the N90 Max series are valued at 81,000 yuan (approximately $12,090).
