On August 21, the 2026 Chengdu International Auto Show officially opened, and BYD’s Dynasty Network brought its new large-to-midsize battery-electric sedan, the Dahan EV. The new vehicle, positioned in the D+ class, officially announced a pre-sale price range of 249,900 to 299,900 yuan (34,710–41,650), targeting corporate managers, highly educated groups, and technology professionals who prioritize comprehensive capability. The vehicle integrates multiple self-developed technologies, with the company stating that a total of 44 are at a globally leading level, attempting to redefine the product standards for domestic high-end battery-electric sedans.
The pre-sale launch includes three configuration versions: the 1008KM Rear-Wheel Drive Premium Edition, the 1008KM Rear-Wheel Drive Flagship Edition, and the 880KM All-Wheel Drive Flagship Edition. The new vehicle lists 15 high-end features as standard across all versions. Consumers who place deposits at this stage can enjoy 18 months of free flash-charging service and a complimentary dual-tone paint scheme worth 10,000 yuan, among other pre-sale exclusive benefits.

Expansive Design and Full-Cabin Luxury Experience
In terms of body dimensions, the Dahan EV measures 5,256 mm in length with a wheelbase of 3,130 mm, representing standard D+ class sedan proportions. The overall design integrates architectural aesthetics, natural imagery, and Chinese cultural philosophy, attempting to break away from the homogenized design approaches prevalent in the market. The front features a single integrated through-type daytime running light measuring 2.41 meters in length, currently the longest integrated light strip in production vehicles, with no splicing breaks. The design borrows from the concept of Chinese flying eaves, reinforcing the vehicle’s dignified visual impression.
In detailed configuration, the vehicle is equipped with a floating emblem that rotates while remaining upright, paired with 21-inch wheels, creating a visual effect leaning toward luxury. The paint options are very extensive, offering five single colors and four dual-tone combinations. The classic Dynasty series paint colors have also been updated, and the roof can be optionally equipped with high-gloss quantum silver or obsidian black to satisfy different users’ aesthetic preferences.
The interior space is a major highlight of this vehicle, with a space utilization rate of 90.8 percent, placing it at a leading level among vehicles in the same class, balancing the streamlined body design with actual interior usable space. The entire vehicle extensively uses NAPPA leather materials, with the front seats equipped with zero-gravity seats featuring full ventilation, heating, and massage functions. The rear seat backrests support 12-degree angle adjustment and are equipped with a leg rest mechanism and a right-side footrest, not only caring for the front occupants but also providing rear passengers with excellent seating comfort.

The interior materials balance texture and style, with an Alcantara-like headliner and soft wrapping paired with imported hand-polished white ash wood trim panels, creating a warm cabin atmosphere. The rear is equipped with special PDLC adjustable privacy glass that can switch between transparent and opaque states in one second. The glove box supports both password and voice unlocking methods, facilitating the storage of private items.
Sound insulation glass is used in multiple locations throughout the vehicle, with more than 200 noise reduction optimizations implemented to reduce external noise during driving. The audio system features a 31-speaker Devialet sound system, including eight headrest speakers. Three zones within the cabin can play audio independently, and combined with multi-channel sound effects, the audio lighting can also change with the music, transforming the cabin into an immersive listening space.
Performance and Chassis Both Online, Large Vehicle with Agile Handling
In terms of power performance, the all-wheel drive version can achieve 0-100 km/h acceleration in as fast as 3.3 seconds, with 100-150 km/h mid-range acceleration requiring only 3.2 seconds. The vehicle’s top speed reaches 270 km/h, with performance comparable to traditional large-displacement combustion-engine performance vehicles. Braking performance is equally impressive, with a 100-0 km/h braking distance of 32.83 meters, balancing acceleration capability and braking safety.
Although the body dimensions are large, the Dahan EV comes standard across all versions with rear-wheel steering, achieving a turning radius of only 4.95 meters, making it more maneuverable in some scenarios than many compact sedans and making U-turns easier on narrow streets and in older urban areas. The chassis is equipped with the Yunian-A dual-chamber air suspension, with a suspension height adjustment range of 100 millimeters. Combined with the road preview function, when encountering potholes or speed bumps, it can actively adjust the suspension state, with shock absorption performance benchmarked against million-yuan luxury sedans.
The intelligent driving system is equipped with the Tianshen Eye 5.0 and lidar-assisted driving solution, capable of handling various complex road conditions, and the automatic parking function can manage many challenging parking spaces. BYD has also provided a one-year safety guarantee for the urban navigation function, demonstrating confidence in this intelligent driving system.

Long Range with Flash Charging, Reducing Long-Distance Travel Anxiety
Range and energy replenishment are core competitiveness factors for battery-electric sedans. The Dahan EV is equipped with second-generation Blade Battery technology, achieving a maximum CLTC range of 1,008 km, equivalent to an estimated 806-857 km on a WLTP basis. The ability to achieve thousand-kilometer range relies on a low drag coefficient of 0.197, while the vehicle’s energy consumption is controlled at 11.5 kWh per 100 km, keeping daily travel costs very low.
Flash-charging technology further alleviates energy replenishment pressure. The vehicle can charge from 10 percent to 70 percent in five minutes and to 97 percent in nine minutes. Even in low-temperature environments of minus 30 degrees Celsius, the charging time increases only slightly. According to the plan, BYD will complete construction of 20,000 flash-charging stations by the end of 2026, converting the vehicle’s fast-charging capability into an available energy replenishment network on the road.
Comprehensively, the Dahan EV concentrates Oriental-style cabin design, high-end chassis, ultra-long range, and ultra-fast energy replenishment into one D+ class sedan, further raising the configuration threshold for domestically produced high-end battery-electric sedans. This vehicle targets users pursuing career advancement, accommodating both business travel and daily family use.
